Heads up,

I am upgrading our hosting package for faster CPU and more memory, so you may experience some minor downtime in the next few days or so.  they told me it should be seamless, hopefully we wont experience any hiccups.

Hello members, we've noticed some members deleting their posts, we don't mind editing but deleting entire posts belonging to a long conversation will ruin the thread. we don't want to end up with useless threads as many of us members put allot of time and effort giving our input and answers to questions, etc...  so i put a 24 hour timer for all members to be able to edit their posts, after that its locked, and if you need to correct what you stated in previous locked posts, simply post another one.  Any inputs regarding this setting are welcomed.  Happy posting.

After a short time, those threads should belong to the forum which belongs to all of us.

Dear Bassam and Saleas,
upon a basic Law principle
Rules' changes act for the future, not for the past.

So, I think that our forum must follow this principle too.
The elder posts/threads (before 6.12.2016) must remain free to changes by the members.

not sure what laws you're talking about, we reserve the right to add and change rules without notice.  we try very hard to keep our forum respectful, clean and informative to the public for free.  we CANNOT allow members to delete old posts that is part of a length conversation, if we do that then the entire thread is useless.  in fact i am going to reduce it from 24 hours to 3 minutes.  allot can happen in 24 hours, member can chime in spending their precious time and knowledge it to be useless.  its not fair.  so 3 minutes it is.

Unbeliable !!!
... in a 1 minute members' right to change/reform/delete/optimise something does not exist here !!!

No dabt, Rules' changes act for the future, not for the past.

But, as it seems, .........  :police:

Hello members, due to past and recent political and controversial topics posted by some member (including me) that created animosity and friction between members, and in some cases lost some members we decided to not allow these topics discussed in our forum.  Such topics will be deleted without notice.  We have added three additional rules.  thanks for your understanding.

•   We allow 3 minutes for members to edit their posts, after 3 minutes the post will be locked and cannot be edited or deleted.  if you need to correct your previous locked post simply post a new one.

•   We reserve the right to delete any posts or entire thread without notice.

•   Political, Controversial and Religious topics are not allowed.  this is a music and culture website, any topics that may offend or create friction between members will be deleted without notice.

Music is a social fact/action/event/re-creation/mirror... Not made in a social vacuum ...
(Of course, this is already an -in further range- politic/worldview thesis by itself.
Same way, the oposite opinons, of course, express another political=worldview thesis too).

So, I think, a really free and LIVE forum with freemind members is interesting (in a %) for all the Social enviropement and life the Music works at ...

Whatever censorship :police: is not a so democratic and right way to control the things.

Hope, this post of mine will not be deleted too

Bass is not taking away people's rights. He is also not suggesting that we censor anything. He is asking that we observe rules. The three minute warning is a great idea because it means that we will ALL have to be more careful what we write and basically it means that we will have to exercise our brains before we put our mouths in gear.

As far as politics and religion goes, there has already been discussion about keeping these topics off the forum, not for censorship but so we can stay friends. We all have different beliefs and by respecting the idea that we need to refrain from public discussion (there is no limitation on private messaging) of subjects that cause friction, it will help maintain cordiality and respect.

The rules are clear, and the restriction of politics and religion and controversial subjects has always been clear. If you join the forum, then you are technically signing a contract. That is "a law" and must be followed.

Ignoratia juris non excusat.

Solo, this is the kind of rant that earned you ScorpionBob's ire not too long ago.
Over the years you have contributed much to the forum, but every once in a while you seem to take a mind to be argumentative just for the sake of arguing. You may or may not have a perfect right to do so, but each of us has a higher moral obligation to seek the most good for all the members. That is what Bass is trying to accomplish here.
